To excel in Mathematics is to KISS it.

Academic Qualifications:  BSc (Mathematics) - 2nd Upper Honours

Schools Graduated From:  NUS, RJC, RI

I specialise in Mathematics since 2000.  My students have shown improvements after receiving tuition for at least 3 months.  My main aim is to help students realise their potential and attain academic excellence.  Some students nowadays loathe the idea of learning Mathematics, so my focus is on the students themselves, with student-oriented teaching and to inject fun into learning.

The students will only excel when interest and passion in learning are present.  Thus the learning environment is stress-free and conducive for learning, and most importantly, students are NOT afraid to ask questions to clarify their doubts!

Every student is given a personalised and structured study plan so that there won’t be any confusion when it comes to weekly tuition.  The student is able to plan and revise ahead of lesson.  There will be regular chapter tests to monitor student’s progress.  Free exam papers from different schools will be given as extra practices.

Vision is one half of the equation. Execution completes the equation.”

Being exam-oriented, the students will be trained to identify key words / phrases which are present in the questions and link to the relevant concepts.  Knowing the relevant concepts will be winning half a battle as the rest of the workings will just be manipulation.

In order to win the game, the students will gain an insight into how a question is set during tests / exams.  This is of paramount importance so that the students can build up their confidence and will not be afraid of tackling any type of question.  That is the key to scoring As in the A-level!

Basically, i will always want to keep it simple and sweet (KISS).  For theorems and proofs that are not deemed necessary, we will tend to skip them.  In this way, average students are not overly loaded with additional information which will make the understanding more complex!!  They will not be turned off!

Honestly speaking, most of the students do not learn much from lectures.  (If you can benefit much from lectures, congratulations!)  Why?  It is because students like to chit chat with friends and teachers tend to emphasize a lot on theorems and proofs (which is definitely good in a way) and students are expected to copy a lot of information in that 1 lecture.  Hence, time to understand is sorely lacking and the students will feel lost.  Once they feel lost, they will feel the topic is difficult to master and shut off automatically.  And it is a vicious cycle!!!

So my aim is to really come in and simplify all topics.  Know what we need to know, understand what we need to know and memorise what we need to know.  It is targeted and effective!

However, that does not mean that the students can switch off during lectures!  It is very crucial to pay attention in school and when we go through the 2nd round, it will be much easier to digest.

I will put in my best and the student is expected to put in his/her best so that best results could be obtained.
